Surprise The city of Surprise has experienced tremendous growth in the past 15 years and is now the 10th largest community in Arizona. Year round sunshine and affordable, newer, family friendly neighborhoods have contributed to the popularity of the area. Some of the top neighborhoods in Surprise are Marley Park, Surprise Farms, Rancho Gabriela, Greer Ranch, Mountain Gate and Sierra Montana.

Surprise is also home to thousands retirees and part time residents who move to the area to live in one of the many age-restricted, resort style communities. Surprise is about 5 miles west of Del Webb's original Sun City & Sun City West developments so it quickly became a popular location for those looking for a retirement community, low property taxes and updated homes. 

In the center of the city you’ll find the Surprise Stadium which is the Spring Training home to Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals. Near the stadium residents can also enjoy the Aquatic Center, Tennis & Racquet complex and Dreamcatcher Park which is a multi-purpose athletic facility designed to provide a fun, safe place to play baseball, soccer and football for city residents. 

To the West of Surprise is the White Tank Mountains Regional Park. Nearly 30,000 acres makes this the largest regional park in Maricopa County. Most of the park is made up of the rugged and beautiful White Tank Mountains. The park has approximately 25 miles of excellent shared-use trails with varied length and difficulty.  There are mountain bike  and horseback trails as well as pedestrian only trails where you can find breathtaking views of the mountains and panoramas of the valley below.
